Professional Development

BCPTA organizes workshops, supervision groups and lectures throughout the year.

The organization has sponsored and attracted many fine speakers and pioneers in the fields of therapeutic intervention including: Dr. John Allan, Marie-Jose Dhaese, Sandra Wieland, Helen Benedict, Sarina Kot, Maureen McEvoy, Coleen Gold, Marshall Wilensky, Mary Anne Pare, Garry Landreth and Rise VanFleet, to name just a few. It has been the ongoing goal of the BCPTA to promote responsive, timely, and quality professional development and training for its members and those in the larger therapy and counselling community.

While we encourage the use of our automated online registration system, we still accept manual application forms. Click here to download a manual membership application form.

“The activities that are the easiest, cheapest, and most fun to do – such as singing, playing games, reading, storytelling, and just talking and listening – are also the best for child development.”
– Jerome Singer (professor, Yale University)
