Bio
My name is Ivania Redpath. I am ready to engage with you and your child through the imaginative world of play, art, and sandtray. I focus my work on processing distressing events, assess and develop emotional regulation, and recognize attachments within family systems. The goal is to nurture new narratives to begin. I create and respond to the developmental stage and follow the pace necessary for change. In 2012 I completed my Recreation Therapy internship at Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children. Upon graduation I worked at various community Mental Health Teams, Riverview, and mental health housing. After almost a decade working in the field, I decided to go back to University and begin my graduate studies in Counselling to become a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Following graduation and beginning a private practice in 2022, I have completed advanced education in Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, EMDR, and Grief and Loss specialties. I hold a deeper understanding in the psychology of an individual's internal journey, and how the use of specific strategies and approaches in our counselling sessions allow an individual progress through therapy to become a better version of themselves. Common techniques used include Narrative Therapy, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and Play Therapy including Sand Tray. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends exploring the outdoors, trying new foods, reading a good book or trying out new hobbies. I am an avid learner and enjoy attending numerous continuing education courses or webinars.

“The activities that are the easiest, cheapest, and most fun to do – such as singing, playing games, reading, storytelling, and just talking and listening – are also the best for child development.”
– Jerome Singer (professor, Yale University)
