Natalie Hunniford
Biographical Info
Natalie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and is certified as a NeuroScience in the Sand Tray (NSST) therapist. She is also the author of "The Brain Fit Took Kit" and "The Brain Fit Super Powers Workbook/Journal". She has loved her time working with children and families as a counsellor for more than 15 years. She strongly believes that children and youth will thrive when they feel safe, connected, and loved. Dysregulation in our brains and bodies happens all the time but sometimes our emotional responses to dysregulation can impact our overall happiness, ability to control our feelings and behaviors, and our relationships with others. If you work with Natalie you will learn more about the brain/body connection using the "Brain Barometer". She will also use a variety of play and art modalities while teaching brain/body awareness techniques. Natalie empowers the children and youth she works with as they gain a greater understanding of what dysregulation is, how this feels, and tools that they can use to control and regulate their emotions. Natalie's goal is to also work with parents/guardians so that they have a greater understanding of dysregulated behaviors, have more compassion for these difficult behaviors, and also feel more empowered using new tools for connection and co-regulation with their children.

“The activities that are the easiest, cheapest, and most fun to do – such as singing, playing games, reading, storytelling, and just talking and listening – are also the best for child development.”
– Jerome Singer (professor, Yale University)
