Amber Hitchen

I have been working with both typical and neurodiverse children and their families for over 20 years, including children with learning differences, autism and ADHD. Using an empowerment approach, my goal is to help children, youth and adults rediscover their strengths, face their fears, and experience more joy in their lives. Areas of practice include anxiety, self-esteem, self-identity, sadness, grief and loss, and life changes. My approaches include sandtray work, puppet play, art mediums, story-telling, neuroscience-based education, and generally creative approaches to challenging problems. I have training in synergetic play therapy (SPT), expressive therapies, narrative, and cognitive behaviour therapies.
