- Play Café: Teaching About Personal Space (TAPS)
January 30, 2026
9:30 am - 11:30 am
Play Cafés have traditionally been short in-person workshops for learning and networking and are one of the many BCPTA member perks. This year, we will hold a Play Café virtually to increase access for our members outside of the Lower Mainland. We hope that you can join us!
*This event is for learning enrichment and connection – No Continuing education credits are being provided*
Teaching About Personal Space (TAPS)
A Virtual Play Café Event!
Friday, January 30th at 9:30am PST – 11:30am PST
Would you like to know more about helping kids learn about healthy touch? Want to know how to bring this topic into your practice?
At this Play Café you will learn about the Teaching About Personal Space (TAPS) program. TAPS is a program for elementary school aged children to learn about types of touch. It broadens their understanding beyond ‘good touch/ bad touch’ and supports them to learn how to set body boundaries. The presenters will explore creative ways to integrate this traditionally school-based program into individual play therapy sessions, discuss ways to enhance the sexual abuse prevention capacity of the TAPS foundation, and it’s use within a broader sexual behaviour problem intervention. The TAPS materials will be made available to all attendees for use.
