Biographical Info Barbara is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, and a Ph.D. candidate researching play with adults at the University of British Columbia. In her therapy practice, she sees children, adolescents, and adults experiencing mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, and trauma. She also works with 2SLGBTQ+ and culturally diverse youth. She works from a Child Centred Play Therapy perspective and also provides Child Parent Relationship Training services to parents would like to learn to use play to enhance their relationships with their children and to decrease challenging behaviours. She also invites clients to use sand tray, particularly her adult clients, to express emotions, gain insight, and move towards growth. In addition to providing therapy, she conducts psychological and psych-educational assessments, under the supervision of a registered psychologist, involving mental health, learning disorders, ADHD, complex behavioural concerns and other psychological issues. She grounds her work in the latest research into play, attachment, and neurobiology with a strengths-based approach to facilitate emotional processing and wellness.
